I am a little nervous about the gravel grinder I am trying to build with the help of with someone. Come to find out he has low standards and a questionable reputation. On the more positive side he has sent me a picture of the build progress to help put my mind at ease.

Based on what he's currently building for himself, I wouldn't say he's got low standards. You're spot-on about the reputation part though.

I mean it's even named after him and his Bear-me/Smite-me ratio is terrible!

Keep in mind said builder with questionable reputation hasn't built your bike yet!  Wait until you see the load of craptastic blown out parts I buy at the swap for you already dented fargo.  Punk.
