    March 18, 2013, 12:45 PM

    Art In Bike Out
An eclectic blend of bicycle inspired art.

Where:  Art In Gallery - 1444 E. Washington Ave. Madison, WI
When:  Opening Friday April 5th 5-9pm

The Art In Bike Out is a combination of Emily Scali’s strong design skills blended with Austin Ohm’s playful artistic vision. Emily and Austin draw inspiration from the inherent enthusiasm and energy of the Madison bicycle culture.  They have created an art show experience resembling a dreamscape of ideas finding odd connections in celebration of that most glorious mode of transportation, the bicycle.

A multi-media experience featuring:  Paintings - Sculpture - Print Making - Video Art - Installations - Fiber Arts - Bicycle Furniture - Poetry - and more.

Emily Scali holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Virginia Tech, and a Master of Architecture with a focus on urban ecological design, from the Virginia Tech Washington-Alexandria Architecture Center. An advocate of bicycle transportation and material re-use, her art reflects on the relationships between space, available material, and consumer culture. Emily's work is very process oriented, with works ranging from experimental printmaking to installation and video art. Emily currently lives in Madison where she teaches design classes, and expands her research through personal design and construction projects.

Austin Ohm earned a BFA from the Peck School of The Arts at UW Milwaukee.  He has proven to be a prolific multi-disciplined multi-media artist and is always excited to share his knowledge and skills with others.  Austin is equally at home with a paint brush in his hand as he is with a welder.  Austin lives in Madison and currently teaches Art for the Janesville School District.

The Art In Bike Out is also honored by the participation of guest artists including:
    - Victor Castro’s “Transformed Materials”
    - Sarah “Tops” Rogers’  “Menstrual biCycle”
    - Robin Lee’s “Wacky Art”

    - Local Bluegrass Group “The Stompin’ Radishes”  will perform 7-9 pm.

No problem Aaron, maybe I'll see you there. My wife works for the Chazen so this is a great way for both of us to enjoy the same thing.
