Lots more information from the initial meeting of the Glacial Drumlin Youth Mountain Biking Club, or GDYMBC? With the attachments it should be everything you need. Post up if you have any questions! The letter from our fearless leader follows. Attachments at the bottom:

Thank you all for showing interest in the Glacial Drumlin Youth Mountain Biking Club.  The turnout at last night’s informational meeting was fantastic and we are very excited to get started.  If you couldn’t make it last night, no issues – vitals attached.

Please fill out and return the attached forms to me by 4/15.  (Note – There is an additional medical release form that I will need signed before the 1st practice – I will be sending that in a follow-up note)
Please make sure to fill out the section on the sign-up for preferred day/time for practice.  We know kids are busy and we will try our best to pick a day that works for most.

Start – 1st Week of May (actual day TBD)
Time  - 6:15pm – 7:30pm – will arrange for an optional Saturday/Sunday trail ride as well.
Meeting Location – CamRock Café and Sport

For those of you that would like to pass along to anyone that you feel may be interested, I have included the Club flyer.  Kathy and I would really like to get more girls involved – mountain biking is an awesome lifelong sport for both boys and girls!  Female participation is also a key to future success if mountain biking /cycling is ever to become a WIAA sport.

We will be doing safety / set-up checks on all of the kids bikes at practice – But, if your kids bike needs maintenance, please talk to Jeff at Camrock Café and Sports or your local bike shop for service before the 1st practice.

Last, Kathy found a great little video that does a pretty good job of showing what the Club will be doing…

NW Trail Alliance/Portland Parks 'Mountain Bike Kids Camp'

Please call or email with any questions or concerns.  We’re going to have a blast on the trails!

P.S.  If you are on this list by mistake and no longer want updates on the Club, please let me know.

    Regards

    Aaron and Kathy Mock

Just a reminder that the GDYMBC is in full swing again this year. Really full swing. There are over 100 kids taking part on the club this year! Pretty amazing to see the gatherings taking place at CamRock Sport as we get ready to head out.
Of course this also means the trails are packed with kids on bikes. Most of the congestion is on the Creekside trails. The trails south of IMBA Influence/Veritas will see some traffic by some of the more advanced kids, but not too much. We head out shortly after 6 bells on Wednesdays, and are back by 7:30.
This Wednesday is a week off because of schedule conflicts. And the club runs through July 2nd.
