I've got a bike and lights in my car but don't know if I can get there until after 6.  I assume you'll be off and running by then.
Pretty sure you can catch us Scott! You know the route...
    See you tonight!

Well that sounds like a challenge.  ;D  Hopefully I'll get out there and not too late.

Another great Monday Night Ride! A good group of folks (8?) out on another chilly Wisconsin night. I think we were rolling by 6:15 with all of the late guys (like me) except for Wes. We rolled fast on the warm up Creekside Connector trails. I love the tight and twisty sections. Wes caught us by the time we got to CamRock III. We rolled on through the normal route. Spotted a deer, some other small animals, and enjoyed the crunch of leaves and the cool dry night air. Personally my highlight was that I nailed every one of the TTF's along the trail - a good night indeed.
As for the trail, normal never seems to come these days. It is either drought or flood. Way above normal temps or way below. We went from a really warm and dry fall to really cold and dry. It sure beats either of those with wet ;) I can't remember the last time we had to cancel because of wet trails.
Hard to believe, but in late October the trails are actually dusty out here. Only a few spots are tacky enough that they are holding the leaves on the trail. It is so dry that the traffic is actually blowing the leaves off in most spots.
The after ride was good as usual. The Beer Bank was put to good use. The stock of Octoberfest beers went down really well. The garage is perfect for getting out of the wind. I found that just staying in my sweaty riding clothes I was perfect for a good 1/2 hour. For the next 15 minutes I was a bit chilly. Then I got downright chilled. Next Monday I hope I am smarter and either put on some warmer clothes or change into dry ones. Thank goodness for car heat and coming home to a hot shower!
Hope to see you next Monday....

    A rare Monday Night dilemma.
It is going to be a perfect night for riding tomorrow. Daytime high of 56. Even with the time change it is still predicted to be 50 at 6p! Amazing weather for November.
But we also have The Game. Monday Night Football and The Pack vs. Da Bears. 7:30pm game time.
Our ride usually wraps up about 7:45-8p.
Some buddies want to get together for the game. In Mad-City.
    Options:
Ride usual ride but head out early enough to be done and in Mad-City by 7:30p. Prolly miss the Monday Night Ride(MNR) gang.
Ride a short ride, wrap up my ride about 7p, and again make game time. Make at least part of the ride with the MNR group.
Say screw the Madison plans and those high falutin' big city folks. Ride the ride and head to Heather's afterward for the game. The beer is cheaper there anyway, and there will be a free spread of snacks to boot!
Anyone else have plans for doing both the ride and the game tomorrow night? Whatcha thinkin'?

I came to work a little earlier and plan on being on the trail by 4:15-4:30 and be off by 6:45.  If thats a good time for you I could meet you at the Heather's trail head or if you want to do a little later I could swing back after a lap.

I got in early today because I forgot it was Daylight Savings Time.  I plan on leaving work at 4:30, so should get there by 5:00.

I could be out there at 5:00 too.  Probably just watch the game at home after the ride.

So it sounds like a few of us are heading out early today. Should we plan to meet at the usual about 5 bells? Thom if you want to meet up I would say 5:15 for on the trail? Or we could meet you somewhere on the trail?

If you have not yet seen the posts, I plan to also stop over at CamRock Sport tonight to met the new owners!  Tentative opening of November 25th. Depending on hours, with the cold weather it will be nice to have a warm place to get geared up and warm up after the ride in the near future :) And sustenance. And beverages 8)

Great ride last night.  We rode the entire system backwards.  While that spiced things up a bit and was interesting, I don't think I would make it a regular occurrence.  For some reason, the trail seems to ride better if ridden in the direction it was designed to be run.  Who'da thunk it.

Maybe because that's what's been ingrained into your mind for so long?

Kind of threw a wrench into things and went out an hour early to make the game. Don't need to discuss that outcome :P Hopefully we did not mess up too many folks plans.
It was a great ride. Amazingly warm. Mid 50's on a November night? The Monday Night Rides have surely been blessed with the weather this fall! Everyone seemed to have a good ride and really enjoyed the night. Super dark out. Trail was tacky goodness with just a couple of slick corners to keep you alert. Only one bruised body, but this is a family forum so I won't go into those details ::)
With CamRock Sport re-opening soon we will again have a nice warm place to get dressed for the ride and for afterward. Looking forward to that.
    See you next Monday!

Holy Alberta Clippers Batman, the cold is flowing down from Canada! Predictions are it is going to be a cold one tomorrow night.
Time to dig out the tights, jackets, and any other cold weather gear you have. It will be cold tomorrow. But being the first real cold of the year will make it feel like it is mid-winter :'(
