-I'm going out on a limb and predicting the trails at Blue Mound will open this weekend. No, I don't have any inside information, but I was out on Over Lode last night and the part I walked looked good.
-Good news: I got a start on weed cutting. Not so good news: The weeds are the absolute worst I've ever seen at Blue Mound. It's going to take a while to get them under control.
-Based on what I saw on a ~1.5 mile segment of trail, there are lots of trees down.
-Some stream bed crossings may be washed out.
-Insect life is abundant and *hungry*.
My plan is to focus on weed cutting first because most of the down trees can be walked around or ridden over. Not so with the weeds. Also, Gary S. is now chain saw certified and will be able to help.
Sorry for the bad photos. It's hard to hold still while being swarmed by mosquitoes.
