This was a great event! Thanks Nate and Patricia for making it happen. Tons of fun. Everyone from kids to gray hairs out having fun in the park on a beautiful fall day. Pretty hard to beat that.
We started with Nick's real sweet set of skinnies set up in the park lawn by the shelter, and a couple of log-ride features and a plastic skate ramp got added to the fun.
We played in that area for a long time. It was hilarious to see the 20" bikes master the skinnies immediately, and show the rest of us how it's done

Then the group split into two with Nick taking the big kids out to play on the big features, and Rick and I taking the kiddos. We played for a while longer near the shelter. Then headed out to Area 51 and Outback. We got back to the shelter about 1p for some eats and a couple of brews. But the kids were still fired up. While eating they were scheming and setting up a contest. Feats of strength if you will. Too funny!
So after we let the grill cool down we got back on the bikes. Nick showed his true skills and managed to get over the obstacle the kids had set up. He mastered it and the rest enjoyed the show. We never really got close.
Then the skinny rides began. Fastest over was first up. Can't remember who won that? I think it was the carbon fiber?
Then slowest over the skinnies. They would not let Nick track-stand. I guess I am good at riding slow. Who knew

Next up was fastest starting from the shelter, over the jump at the crest of the hill, and down the long hill to the gravel trail at the bottom. I love going down hill! It's the uphills I am not so fond of :P
And last but not least was the jumping for distance.
Basically this was one heck of a good time! It's great to be a kid

Thanks again to everyone who made it happen! Great fun for the whole family, and us kids of all ages 8)
