I finally got around to downloading some of the pictures off my cell phone. Here's one more picture of the reroute work Gary and I did on Serpentine climb this fall.

What I especially like about the work is we saved and used waste dirt from the bench cuts to fill in over tree roots, with the rocks we removed used to make a small retaining wall for the dirt. Cut and fill. More work but the result is very good.

Not only is the trail slope within the guideline of 1/2 or less of the hillside slope, but the root fill-overs are equivalent to rolling grade dips. I think this section of trail will not need maintenance for a long, long time.

Thanks again for helping to make this happen Gary.

    Sweet.

You should find out what scale bribe you need with the RASTA trail crew! The most impressive bit I noticed with their extensive use (ownership now) of the mini ex is the way they've built over and under things become problems in time. The older trail there has worn and in some cases is like Blue Mound thus, why I've kept an eye on it.

Obviously one doesn't have to have the mini ex, but is moving good work from a small group along much faster.

I look forward to the rides!

    Thanks again.
