    To add to the discussion:

I think it is important that we try and accommodate and support all styles of mountain biking/off-road riding.  That being said, I think most people realize that our ability to do so is limited by a number of factors including: 1) geography; 2) volunteers; 3) political leadership; and 4) liability/sustainability concerns of land managers.

Maybe I am an old fogee and out of touch (good chance), but I think in the last few years CORP has done a good job building trail for different types of riders. Pleasant View is a prime example.  Also, we re-worked the downhill trails at Quarry-Ridge, added a bitchin wooden berm feature and tunnel trail, and plans are in the works to rehab the 3 sisters line.  At Camrock, we have a whole section dedicated to technical skills riding with a number of TTF features.  We added the beer run downhill trail, re-made the prairie into a bermed slalom course, and, my understanding is that there is work in progress on an advanced downhill/jump line at Camrock.

So, it seems to me that CORP has done quite a bit to incorporate more "aggressive type" downhill and technical riding in our trial systems.  While we have added more to the XC loop at Quarry Ridge this year, aside from that, I am hard pressed to think of any new "mostly XC" trails we have built in the last few years.

All great points Tim. One point I would add. This type of trail, and these types of features, are much more expensive to build, more expensive to maintain, and require a lot more labor for both.
It used to be building a new trail was strictly a few of us with McClouds and Rogue Hoes. A feature was a tree falling over the trail and we called it a log-over. The fist time a machine was used to build any trail at CamRock was last year in May. Since then there has been a lot of machine hours put into CamRock.
So yes I think our trail building has evolved immensely.
