    Tuesday night, Quarry Ridge

    December 16, 2013, 10:00 PM

I finally got to play in the snow at Quarry Ridge on Saturday, conditions were spot on, had a fantastic ride.  It's quite the solid expedition to hit all of the trails there with a little snow on the ground and I aim to do it again on Tuesday night.  It should be a fine evening, there's a solid track in the last snowfall so this one shouldn't be to bad to push through, clouds will be clearing under a full moon, temps in the 20's.  I'm shooting for a 6pm arrival time.  If it's anything like Saturday don't expect a casual pace out of me, it's too much fun to be holding back.

No promises, but if the snow is similar to Saturday then a regular bike with aggressive tires could have a great ride as well, especially if there are several fat bikes blazing the trail.

I might meet you out there.  I might be a more casual pace though, as I may also hit it at lunchtime today.  Just put Bud back on front, forgot how heavy and enormous that thing is!

I put a couple tracks down in the soft stuff on the main loop at lunchtime.

Very rideable.  I had to push on some of the climbs, the 2+" of fluff on top of the hardpack are a big "surfy".  But I put down a couple of tracks and could ride most of it without too mych effort, not a lot of pushing through, only mashing down.  Not fast though, at least not in any corners.  First bike after the new snow, the laps took me 20-ish minutes each.  I'm planning to meet you out there around 6 for at least a couple more laps.

That was a sweet ride last night guys.   I'm probably going to head out again tonight after work, maybe 530-ish.

You are an animal.  I think my legs are a bit to soar to consider something like that.

Nice turnout last night from a good crew, we even had the half-fat and a full skinny in attendance. I had a great time and can't wait for more.

Thanks for helping me get the tire pressure sorted out Rich.  I had much more the last 2 laps than the first.  The half-fat Voodoo actually worked pretty well once I got the pressure down in back.  Front end was still a little squirelly.   But, I managed to trail blaze most of the return loop without a problem.  Hope to make it out again tonight, work permitting.
