I also will agree it is a very senic route, at least the 54 miler. The second half / long route is a sufferfest. I rode down with Richard and knowing he was going to do the long route I considered doing part of it myself. Looking at the map I saw the long route doubled back on itself at Hwy C. My plan was if I felt good I would ride out that far which would be about half of that loop. At mile 50 where you decide which way to go, long or short, I was feeling like I wasn't done riding. A mile into the route was Borah Ridge Rd. It went up and up and up, then you hit loose gravel still gradually climbing with a nasty crosswind. After 4 miles I was so spent I considered turning back, but I decided to push on. I slowly started feeling a little better as did the riding to Hwy C. Even got to ride thru senic Millville (right Richard

). Then came Barker Hollow Rd (the second to last climb Richard mentioned) freshly graded and straight up. although it was ridable, I got off and pushed a couple times just for a break.
Bike computer says I did 84.6 miles. I guess that's enough training for BALLS this weekend

.
Manage to beat Richard back to the park by a couple minutes, although he did do 23 more miles than me.
Token picture so it's real
