    Bike O'Rama roll call.

    March 06, 2014, 08:02 AM

I am in town this week and only conflict is Sat morning.  When do you need someone to man the booth?

Also, just saw the announcement for the Mar 29 Fundraiser at Machinery Row for the NEW Seminole MTB Trail.  Any chance we can get fliers and a big poster at the booth.  Great time to promote a kid's biking area.

I am going to make an attempt to get a list of times, etc going here. It is important that we are making a good presence at Bike O' Rama. It should not be just the "old guard" here either. In fact better if it is not. People that are new to mountain biking are more important to the future of riding in this area than we are. All you need to do is sit at a table and tell folks what you like about mountain biking and where you like to ride. We know you love riding on dirt, all you need to do is share that enthusiasm with others.
And yes we are making a push to have folks be a part of CORP. CORP is not the important thing, but as a group that is how we get things done. As a group we can gain access, get approvals, raise the needed $, and make things happen. So if you have not "joined" to date, make it happen this year. Start supporting this weekend at Bike O' Rama. And don't miss out on the many smokin' deals on new gear that you can only get at the show!

    Show is open:
    Friday, March 7th Noon – 9pm
    Saturday, March 8th 8am – 9pm
    Sunday, March 9th 10am – 6pm

Jeff Lenosky performance times - we really should have these times covered because he draws crowds:
    Friday 4:30 6:30 8:30 pm
    Saturday 2:00 4:30 7:00 pm
    Sunday 12:45 2:30 5:00 pm

    Manning the booth:
    Friday:
    William - open to ?
    Paul M  - afternoon
    Patricia - evening
    Brian    - evening

    Saturday:
    Dave R   - 9a-?
    Chuck H - afternoon
    William  - evening??

    Sunday:
     :'(        - morning??
    Bruce L  - afternoon
    Augs      - afternoon

We certainly want other clubs, biking groups, etc, to be a part of this as well. We are all in the same boat. If you are a member of a racing team come on out, work at the booth, support CORP as we make the trails happen, and talk about your team as well and what you do. Same with youth clubs, etc.

This is what we have so far. Just post up when you can lend a hand. If the time you want to help looks full, post up anyway. We will add you. It is great to have more than one person at the booth. And a bonus you get to meet and talk to others in the club :) If I have you down and that time does not work for you, post that up as well. I will update the list.

Also if you have a laptop or tablet with internet access, it would be great if you could bring it. We should all be trying to get people to sign up for CORP membership at the show. And remember that joining IMBA and checking CORP as your club makes you a member of both.

We will have flyers for all the events and promotion in general at Bike o Rama. Just need people to help man the table.

Sorry to be slow to respond; this weekend is turning out to be busier than I expected, and still sort of in flux.  The only time I may be able to come is Sunday afternoon.  I will be there if I can, but cannot promise yet.

I slid you in there for Sunday afternoon Jon. Thanks!

Bruce would you be able to take a different time? We are still open on the Saturday evening and Sunday morning time slots. The two times this weekend I can't make it.

I would really like to see someone there on Saturday evening. Jeff Lenosky has a show that starts at 7p. I would expect a crowd yet then.

If you are heading to the show at all, and I don't know why you wouldn't with Bike O' Rama going on, and Canoecopia right next door, just give a shout out. Even if you just sat at the booth for an hour it would be great. You give the person there a break. And/or having a couple of folks in the booth is a great thing. Who knows, you might actually have some fun or meet someone new to bike with :)

Saturday evening might work best for me - what a pain when family and making a living get in the way of mountain bike advocacy.

Patricia and I are gathering up resources in different directions and I'm aiming to be there around noon to get things going. I know we have a table. I'll throw a camping chair in my car if needed.

Just packed up the booth.  I have the pull out banner, chair, lots of brochures, and all the heavy metal display objects.  It is in my garage.  I will be home tomorrow morning, then gone until Mar 19.  If someone needs the goodies before I return, I can give you the combination to the back door.

The show had a lot of traffic and I was able to network with a lot of bike groups.  They put the CORP table in front of 10 fatties.  It was pure torture and the floor was wet from all the drool.

Saturday we were crammed in between the Lupine Festival and the MS ride; it was a little tight and seemed like we were easy to overlook.  Did you move the whole table over by the popcorn machines where the fatbikes were?  If so, that is brilliant; I am sure it made it more pleasant to be there and way more visible.  Should be remembered for next year.
