Some non-bike news from our event at Capital Brewery was learning a new smaller batch brew system is coming this winter. Scott said that will allow them to bring back some things you might notice missing in stores and to do more specialty beers that don't get their regional distribution.

The brewery has been a tremendous partner for a few years with fundraisers and a whole lot of times volunteers were given a cold one after helping at an event or doing trail work.

I'm not always a fan of stout beers, but 345 Stout is the best of the 3 Cayman Islands beers I've had.

I'm not sure I should be too critical when the brewery operates where there's no fresh water and more fresh limes and fish than grain. Breadfruit or cassava beer?

Shell Shock is hardly an IPA as we know them but CIB  (has finally made something that doesn't leave me searching for German or Czech beer that isn't beyond expiration date. It's more like a slightly hoppy British brown ale.

1.5 yrs since last beer post from mtn bikers..?  In WI...? Am I on another planet?? ;D

Anyway, not quite beer, but stopped into Brix in Mount Horeb the other day after Military Ridge ride. They're directly on the bike trail with outdoor patio. They make their own hard alcoholic cider and have about a dozen offerings. This isn't your overly sweetened type you may find from familiar store shelf brands.  Much smoother, light and refreshing. They also have food offerings and a few beers too.

Just wanted to let you all know(if anyone is even reading this) since the staff were nice and very happy to interact with customers.  And honestly on the hot days we have now, the cider was just the ticket for refreshment after a ride.

Nice, I'll keep that in mind.

So far this summer has had a good crew joining the Capital Brewery rides on Tuesday & Thursday where they have new recipes and the Trail Ale helps pay for the things CORP does.

I have a Michelob Amber Bock chilling in the fridge.
It is one of the rarest times I have ever been influenced as an adult by TV advertising that got me to buy it when I did for the first time.
