First: is there any chance I can borrow a rear wheel (170mm) from someone for this event? My rear hub is on its way back to England for some work.
Second: Chuck, I've been saying for a while that someone needs to make a fat-specific mini-pump with a wide barrel to move a lot of air volume, a bleed valve and a built-in gauge that only goes up to 20 or 30 psi. That way you can pump up more quickly, but also let a controlled amount out as needed to adjust and fine-tune your pressure.
For the time being, the Topeak RaceRocket MT is working pretty well for me, it is fairly fat, and the hose attachment makes it pretty easy to pump. Its similar in design to the Lezyne mini-pumps, but with a wider barrel and a little quicker to deploy.
