Best feature to filter riders while maintaining flow?

6" log-over. Ridden in stride by advanced riders.
    3 (15%)
Multiple log ride. Up and over. Breaks flow.
    8 (40%)
Step-up ladder ride. Ladder elevated say 12" off ground. Would need work to keep riders on trail. Flat area.
    1 (5%)
12"-18" Drop Feature. Some call it a jump. Like the drops that were added to the trail farther down the hill.
    8 (40%)

Seems a drop feature is taking the lead as a recommendation to the TTF Crew!

Whatever you feel works best once evaluating it John.
    My thoughts:
I want it in the flat area past the tree and before the dip.
Right after the trail divides so that a rider has a chance to bail before the hill.
I would like the flow to be maintained. The flow there is really nice the way it is now around the tree and through the dip into the rocky downhill section.
That area could use a very slight tweaking to make it even better. As in get a little air off the dip, and keeping the trail on the rocky portion of the trail for fun and preventing erosion.

I wondered exactly where you wanted it and join your consideration for the flat area and dip that could be pumped. Is that dip too far down the trail? If you can make pump-friendly rolls you'll have something that would be fun and gaining speed for anybody in the know and create your filter effect for the rest.

I vote for big log pile similar to first one in Veritas. It does not break up my flow.

The filter should match the technical trail features found on the trail it's filtering.  If you have jumps or drops on a trail, the filter should be a jump or a drop.  The filter/qualifier makes someone clean a low risk & medium/high skill feature before doing the same thing with potentially more risk on the trail.

Okay, after riding the trail yesterday, the twig across the trail is too diminuative....Lilliputian, bantam, bitsy, bitty,  little, midget, mini, miniature, minute, peewee, pint-sized, small, teensy, teensy-weensy, teeny, teeny-weeny, undersized, wee, weeny.

Okay, I take responsibility for not realizing the trail was going to change skill level rating with the work we did.  Ultimately, the filter should have been built first; with the amount of traffic CamRock gets, even with the signage at the start of the two downhill runs, someone could easily roll right over the log without pulling up or anything and take a nasty spill at the first roller.

I dunno, I almost crash on that first jump every time! It's kind of fun on my spindly lightweight XC bike!
