CORP will be professionally rebuilding and realigning about 2/3 mile of the Chert Dip trail, on the northeast side of the main loop around the mound, beginning October 3. Portions of this trail have eroded badly over the years. It will be realigned, much more sustainable, longer overall, and a LOT more fun!
CORP has contracted with Travis Bellman, whose notable trail work includes WinMan in north central WI, and also some in Copper Harbor and Marquette, MI. Some portions of the trail may be temporarily closed at times, and we'll post updates as work proceeds.
Now is a great time to ride at Blue Mound State Park, and things continue to improve. This is only the tip of the iceberg for what CORP has planned.
This project would not have been possible without the generosity and support of the Friends of Blue Mound State Park, contributors to the Machinery Row fundraiser this past spring, our members and sponsors, Tom Griesheimer, and the WI DNR. Thanks to everyone involved!
