Good news! Our first Cross Plains trail day is finally upon us. A special thanks to REI for sponsoring this trail day and providing the food and beverages to keep our volunteers going! Please RSVP to the Facebook invite below so that we can get an accurate head count.
https://www.facebook.com/events/1372480526163604/We will meet at the Cross Plains Parks and Recreation Building to start the day and will walk about 1 block to the proposed trailhead near County Road KP. See the attached Trail Day Map for more information.
We will be concentrating on clearing brush along a 1000 foot stretch of the access trail corridor in preparation for the single track trail construction. The flagged trail is approximately 0.3 miles with an average grade of around 8%. This area is currently thick with vegetation so be sure to wear gloves, long pants, and potentially a long sleeve shirt. Also note that there are no restrooms so please come prepared. We will have some basic tools for volunteers, but please bring brush saws, loppers, and spade shovels if you have them.
