Hi all!  Starting a new thread here to give us a refresh for the summer of 2018!

Generally we will have a standing Monday trail day at 5:30pm throughout the summer assuming that it does not fall on a holiday or back up to a weekend work day.  We will leave a message here and/or on Facebook if the work day is cancelled.   Meet at the corner of Bourbon Road and County Hwy KP.  Feel free to bring a bike because the initial uphill is nearly complete.....  and it's always good to get a little riding in.

    Trail map attached......

Looking for a couple experienced trail builders to help operate and work around a ride behind skid steer this weekend 6/9-6/10.  We will work both Saturday and Sunday approximately 9am-5pm.  Feel free to stop by or drop me a message with questions.  Thanks!

Weather looks ideal. Bring your bike and we will ride to the work area, work for a bit and ride the rest of the trail.  A lot of dirt was moved this weekend so come and check it out!

Next trail day is Thursday 7/5.  We will be renting a machine and will be tag teaming work throughout the day starting at 9 am.  Bring your bike and come lend a hand!  We are about 1 mile back from the entry way, so ride on back and come lend a hand.  Use caution - as about half the trail is only roughed in and requires hand work to complete.

BYO work gloves, bug spray, water, food, and bike.  We will supply the tools.  See you soon!

Hi All!  A couple guys will be meeting tonight (Wednesday 7/18) at 5:30pm for an impromptu ride and work day.  Bring your bike, work gloves, water, and some bug spray.  Meet at the trailhead near the power pole.

Also, looking for some volunteers this Saturday 9am-noon to assist Landowski Trailworx and clean up a couple berms.  Same deal as above.

Lastly, we are targeting a GRAND OPENING on Saturday 8/25, 10am-2pm.  We'll plan to work a bit from 10am-noon, gril out around noon, and ride the afternoon.  Put it on your calendars!

We need your help!  We are getting close to a grand opening in August but there is still quite of bit of volunteer hand work required to clean up and smooth the trails that we’ve roughed in so far.  If you are available, please join us next Tuesday night at 5:30pm for a mini-work day.  We will meet at the trailhead off of County Hwy KP and will head up the hill.  The working area is about 1 mile from the trailhead so feel free to bring your bike or walk in.  No experience necessary and we will supply the tools.  Be sure to bring work gloves, water, and bug spray.  If you come late, head up the trail until you reach a group of friendly folks.

We’re getting excited here!  Two weeks ago we completed the West out-and-back trail and our professional builder Landowski Trailworx is back in the neighborhood to finish up the entry trail this weekend.  By Tuesday we should have a good sampling of the sweet riding to come!

Do you need any chainsaw or string trimmer work?

Chainsaw work can only be performed if you have county or state certification and you will need to provide proof to the village. At the moment I do not think there is a need for any chain saw work. Most of the trail is in good shape as far as string trimming goes.  With that said we could always use a few hands with that in the future. We do have a brand new string trimmer with plenty of fuel.  Let me know if are interested in the future.

Looking for volunteers this Thursday 8/16 at 5:30pm for a mini-work day.  We are on the final stretch of hand finishing the initial 1.5 miles of trail and we would love to have the trail riding smooth for the grand opening on 8/25!

We will meet at the trailhead off of County Hwy KP and will head up the hill.  The working area is about 1 mile from the trailhead so bring your bike.  No experience necessary and we will supply the tools.  Be sure to bring work gloves, water, and bug spray.  If you come late, head up the trail until you reach a group of friendly folks.

The GRAND OPENING that is scheduled for this Saturday is still ON!  Despite all the rain we had (15” in 24 hours) the trails held up remarkably well.  It would be great if volunteers could show up on Saturday at 10am to help fix a couple areas before the ribbon cutting and food at noon.  After that, you are free to ride!  If you think you can make it, please respond on facebook so that we can get a headcount on food and bev.

A new trail map has been posted under the Cross Plains trail page.  Thanks for Mike Repyak's hard work on this!
