Fall is upon us, which means that the Annual Meeting is coming up, which means we need to be thinking about elections.  We currently have one opening on the CORP Board, the Vice President-Events, and two positions that are up for re-election, Vice President-Membership and Secretary.

Generally, board members are expected to attend monthly meetings (usually the fourth Thursday of the month, 7:00-9:00), to be responsive to regular email communications, to keep abreast of club activities via the website and social media, and to help out occasionally at a variety of club functions.  One needn't be an expert mountain biker or trail-builder, just have a willingness to contribute some time and effort, an enthusiasm for the sport, and some patience for the inefficiencies of a volunteer run organization.

    Vice President-Events

The Vice-President-Events is responsible for scheduling, coordinating, and expediting major club events and functions and coordinating with the Vice-President-Membership, and other duties from time to time as may be assigned by the President or the Board.

CORP hosts and participates in a variety of events over the course of the year.  The VP-Events often plays a vital role in organizing  and promoting events, or working with other organizations.  Most of our larger events are run by other individuals, and your role amounts to a more supervisory one.  Recruiting volunteers and delegating tasks will make life easier.  This can occasionally be a time-consuming role, but it is rewarding to a be a vital part of raising funds and spreading the good word about CORP.

    Vice President-Membership

The Vice-President-Membership is responsible for maintaining existing membership base and developing new membership, including staffing event booths for membership recruitment and coordinating with the Vice-President-Events, and other duties from time to time as may be assigned by the President or the Board. The Vice-President-Membership is also responsible for chairing the Membership Committee.

Dan Dacko is currently serving, and is willing and eligible to serve another term, but would welcome an interested party's stepping in to take his place.

    Secretary

The Secretary is responsible for keeping records of Board actions including preparing minutes of all meetings, sending notification of meetings with proposed agenda, distributing minutes to members, ensuring that organization records are maintained, and the timely submission of any periodic filings with the State of Wisconsin or the Internal Revenue Service, and other duties from time to time as may be assigned by the President or the Board.

Caleb Bush is currently serving, and is eligible for another term, and is happy to continue, but if others are interested, they are welcome to make it competitive (though we'll try to talk you into taking one of the more open positions!).

Lots of opportunity to be a part of the constantly improving off-road cycling scene!
