Fresh muffins! How can you pass that up? Better get on out to CamRock early tomorrow! Guessing they will going like hot cakes :-)
It is going to be hot tomorrow. Not something we are used to dealing with this time of year. I will have a cooler of water on ice. Might want to bring some of your own drinks if you prefer something else.

Thanks Thom. If you don;t make it out get aholod of me. Lots of little projects that I know you are capable of doing. We need to get some small trail maintenance efforts going this spring to keep things in good shape.

Well we had a meager turn out but lots of good trail maintenance was completed on corkscrew. I am taking this week off from any maintenance but in the coming weeks I plan to be out there at least once a week to take care of the rest. There are a few more drainage tasks on Rattlesnake, finish the last berm on the Beer Run, fix some flow issues on the new beginner trail, signage, and re-routing of some trail that is otherwise eroded or plain sucktastic. If anyone wants to get out there with a rouge hoe and work at it let me know and I can get you access to some toolage. :)

Thanks for your efforts, folks! As my schedule opens up in the coming weeks, I'll be putting in more hours. I'll keep in touch with Dave and Chuck to be sure we aren't taking keys for the storage room when someone else expects them to be available.

Same as above. Many thanks to the few, the proud, the trail builders. Trail Builders Rock 8) ;D

Corkscrew is in fantastic shape and should be for good for a long time. We need to do the same to Rattlesnake so it is solid for the upcoming season. And we need to complete the projects started and not-quite-finished this year.

Dave and I plan to meet this week and discuss the priorities after that. I would really like to get the Connector prairie sections repaired, as those rutted sections are unsightly and no fun to ride. pretty sure no one likes riding it. But we never quite seem to get there.

Warning. Soap Box Ahead: I am hoping some folks can put in some time after work, weekends, whatever for some trail maintenance. The last three Trail Days had very poor attendance. Lots of folks out riding Saturday. It was like a highway out there. The "thanks for maintaining the trails" as folks ride past is appreciated. But it will not keep the trails that we have now maintained, never mind the expansion potential we have at CamRock. If we continue to struggle to keep the existing trails maintained, I am very leery of working hard to get new trails approved and built at CR. Off soap box now. I warned ya  ;)

We will be posting up for some days starting next week. But feel free to volunteer to come out anytime. Even an hour or two will help a lot. Work then ride makes the earned ride that much sweeter :D I can get you to a key, tools, and steer you in a direction. Post me up a message, email me at themayor1 at frontier dot com or call or text me at six o eight seven 7 two seven 83 three.

Thanks for your work out at Cam-Rock. There, I said it again ;)

Sorry you didn't get a great turn out for your work day. At Blue Mound, having 8 people show up was the high point of the year, and that's kind of sad. In a happy kind of way. If you know what I mean.

The club has come a long way toward providing a better rounded experience for members with the races and group rides. We need more of that stuff, because we all like to ride bikes. But it bears repeating that work by CORP's members is the main way that the trails in south central Wisconsin get built and maintained.

I'm proud of the great work we do, but honestly I (and I'll include all the other trail stewards here) know that there is a lot that needs doing and doesn't get done because there aren't enough people who come out to help. Please consider donating your efforts to helping Chuck and the Cam-Rock crew. And thanks to everyone who already has done so!
