Can I carpool with anyone that is leaving from the eastside tomorrow for the workday?  Im sure I can score a ride home with Blackbike.  Oh, the joys of a daughter turning 16 and another driver in the family :o

I work mondays 2pm-2am so that leaves me out unless anyone needs a cab ride to or from the work day!

Most of the work days are done before I'm awake on weekend mornings so that's a bummer, keep hitting up evening ones and I will make one!  Tuesday nights or Thursday nights and some Sunday nights I'm free if that matters.

Scott, I don't check this page too often, I can take off and switch my schedule around at will given a 48 hrs notice.  I prefer the evening work days!  My email is egbdf456@gmail.  If your planning something shoot me an email, I check that at least daily.

Guys - some great possible ideas for a different climb came in over the weekend - but Brendan has not had a chance to look to see if they are feasible, allowable, or the scope of them.  So we will be looking at that this evening, and there is still a lot of trail work to do so we will be busy regardless of whether we're cutting the climb in or something else.

I've got my singlespeed in the car just in case there is time for a few laps at the end of the evening, and will pick up a few sixers on the way out there.  How about a backwards loops group ride, it's a nice changeup! See you this evening, 5:30!

Yeah Dave, I can give you a ride home, no problem.

How long do you think the working/riding will last tonight?  I could probably come out around 6:30 if there will still be work and fun going on.

I'm sure we'll still be out there at 6:30, go ahead and join us.
I don't know exactly where Brendan plans to place people so bring a bike and sweep through and find us.

We had some productive trail flagging, corridor clearing, and beer drinking tonight. Thanks to Scot, Bin, and Richard for coming out to help out (especially Scot who brought a nice craft beer selection).

We brought the clinometer out and really re-assesed the entire thing. We've got a new corridor going up the side of the ridge and winding through a nice bowl / Aspen grove near the top that is choc-full of invasive species. It took a lot of cutting to walk the corridor and measure the climb, but the result is a steady 10% grade with some steeper and flatter sections the entire way up.

This is going to require a lot more invasive species removal and bench-cutting but I think everyone will be satisfied with the end result.

Hopefully you will find similar results to CamRock. I have found that building through the invasives is not to be feared. Stuff you can barely push through to flag and design, actually clears pretty quickly and viola you have a nice corridor to work on. And the massive amount of shaded vegetation generally means some nice loamy soil to work in as well. I have found it best to clear and build shortly after. Especially in this current weather, don't let it set for a couple of weeks and dry up. Moist soil is great to work in ;)

I'm pretty encouraged by the way the new line looks - uses the bottom of the rerouted ambulance climb where it actually had some reasonable sweep away from the fall line to it, then moves to the right.  Still some good climbing (you still have to get to the top!) but with a bit more variation in the pitch, and a nicer ride through the woods.

There is a lot to do to clear the ground and brush before we can actually start benching trail in, but we've cleared the way except for the very top stretch.  If we can get a decent crew for a few more evening sessions this thing can get done for the bulk of summer riding.  Even if you're like me and dig riding the sandy climb, this will be a nice additional option to mix things up for you.  If you're a QR rider, please help us get this done.

I guess I got lucky being the other guy working in shorts and not really paying attention to that until the last 15 minutes or so we were working.  Did you try out the fancy wash that Brendan was telling us about?

Do we have a time picked for the next work on this?  I'll be around this weekend and could probably find a couple of hours to swing a rouge hoe.
