I'd strongly, strongly encourage we look at the much longer line JeffB had proposed at one point (he sent me a map, I don't know if it ever got posted) rather than the thing we started to cut in this spring. I'm not sure if that's what's been flagged. What we cut in has some improvement at the top - but I looked the other day and have to conclude that most of it is just more of the same. And definitely not a beginner's alternative to the sandy climb. Jeff's idea creates a sustainable climb, considerable distance, and a good deal less intense.
