We need a tab on the web page with downloadable versions of the brochure, and trail maps.

If anyone has a use for them, I have a box full of red oak blanks, most of them are 3/4" thick and around 5x9" dimensions (not exactly sure but can check). They might come in handy here and there for trail markers and such. Stuff like this might be better from pressure treated but if properly coated they should last a long time in the outdoors. I got them free from a retired woodworker, just sittin' around and would be happy to donate.

I saw the signage at the trail head today about Corp's involvement in the trails, presuming that is the one you are referring to Walt. I read alot of stuff on there today while I waited for my buddy to arrive. If he had been on time we would have just hit the trails. Anyways, it's easy to regard a piece of paper that is faded and weathered as old info. There seems to be a fair share of that in the case and I figure nobody wants to take someone elses stuff down so things can stay there quite awhile and start to look outdated. Most of what I saw there today was pertinent however.

I can say what draws my eye is colorful material that is laminated and contains logos, website info, date of last printing, and yes my hand went into the map box in hopes of there being one of anything left in there. I know I don't represent how everyone uses the trail head and these are not meant to be criticisms in any way, only observations.

I do wish to add that learning of the existance of Corp is beyond anything I had hoped for. You guys are way on top of your game. For there to be a group of people with experience in most, if not all of the local trails as well as a unified field of trail builders who are organized and tuned in to what each trails different characteristics are is extraordinary and inspiring. The fact that the local trails are overseen by the same group makes entering this sport as a beginner a more enriching experience. Over the last few years I have participated in the hobby of off road RC racing (10th scale) and found it very frustrating that all the local tracks were so independent of one another that they actually competed with one another for race dates, classes to run, track design etc. I always wished they would join together and spread the love so all the tracks could thrive. Instead tracks ran out of money and came and went, along with members. I don't see any of this here, it is good. If and when I am able to contribute in a more tangable way, I surely will.

    Good point.

I need to talk to the park management about clearing out the dated material from the kiosk. I talked to the previous manager about putting something in there once, and for whatever reason, he was reluctant to give me access to it. Having sufficient things to do with my time, I just forgot about it. But you're right, it just looks like nobody cares enough to keep it fresh, and the least I could do is get the 10 year old newspaper clippings out of there.

    Thanks,

    Walt

I am lucky Walt. I think I have bureaucracy to deal with. And then I talk to Walt.....

I don't know how you do it. I am lucky enough to have access.

The manager of Machinery Row gave me a message they're having another demo day June 20. He said he had difficulties registering for the forum and it won't let me post the flyer he sent so here's the info from Giant.

Any idea what the trouble was he had when registering? Can you send me his email so I can contact him to find out what the problem was and help get him signed up?

I helped someone get signed up on our site the other day. I believe it was six attempts at getting the security code entered to get in. Because of the email requirement ( went to another account) it was twice through the entering information process. After twice at that, and after the fourth attempt at the security codes, he was ready to give up.

Literally impossible to read. With both of us looking at them we did not know what the right code to enter was. When we finally got it it felt like we got lucky and conquered the beast. So we had to go have a beer ;-)

I struggled with the code also. It's a little over concealed.

Another idea:  I did Ride The Drive this weekend and there were a ton of vendors (including most bike shops) and a huge crowd.  My wife suggested that we have a booth next year with a sign that says "What to ride something a little dirtier?" or to that effect.  (even the roller derby chicks had a booth)

I had the same thought; I would be willing to help out if this comes to fruition.

Regarding the code, yeah it sucks but it's the nature of the beast if you want a spam free forum.

You don't HAVE to use a super tough CAPTCHA. A simple question that can only be answered by a human would weed out most of the bums. The trick is to separate the question from the input field, so they aren't linked (as in, don't use the "label" parameter in the input element).

    Anyway...
