I think it is fair to say that a good time was had by all.  Many thanks to my wife, who was gracious enough to drive all the food and beer to us so it would still be cold.

Wish more people had turned out, but that means I have lots of left over beer and munchies to bring to the Battle next weekend.

Best part of the day:  the "elite" racer who rode straight into one of the logs on Veritas (making no attempt to lift his front wheel) and had to walk his bike over, who then proceeded to complain that the elite race course was not "technical enough."

That elite rider will retract his words on the 5th lap! I designed it to be fast and wear you down.

I remember moving. Though it is getting to be a distant, though painful, memory. After moving 11 times in 10 years in Mad-Town, when we bought the Hutchens' Haus in Rockdale I told Janet I never wanted to move again. Working out alright so far :) Not sure why I would want to leave at this point.

Hopefully you will be able to get out by this weekend and join in helping out at the Battle. I am looking forward to seeing lots of cool folks this weekend. It is the place to be!

In effort to please our editorial friend, I am now the proud owner of a "giant bike" with "giant wheel."

Went with a Felt Nine Trail. It's definitely an entry-level bike, but that's perfect for me. I did some test rides on a few other bikes, and the Felt just felt (get it?) better.

If you want to break that bike in properly, let us know, we'll take it out to Blue Mounds.
