    BALLS, one day... anyone? Bueller?

    June 12, 2012, 11:26 PM

I'm thinking of doing the entire BALLS route in one day. Probably doing something like leaving from the Quarry Ridge trailhead/parking at 6:45am and heading out the Military Ridge Trail. Expected ride time would be about 12 hours with around 10 hours of actual in the saddle time. The route I have in mind omits the side-track to Broadhead, just a loop of the Military Ridge Trail, connecting on roads to the Cheese Country Trail then back to Madtown on the Badger Trail. 130 miles-ish from Quarry Ridge, about 150 from my house (east side, near Olbrich).

The next days I might have available for such an endeavor are July 4th and July 14th. Anyone interested in pushing their BALLS to the limit?

My BALLS are just fine the way they are, thank you. And I am confident that this would make them not so :'( This is well beyond my limit.

You are insane dude. Good on you. Hope you have a great ride 8)

I might be game depending if the day works out.  Heat might be a limiting factor for me as well.  How about ride in reverse of the BALLS route?

I kind of like the idea of getting past the high point of the ride (Blue Mounds) early in the day, I feel like coming back on the Badger Trail will be easier... Belleville is a well-spaced last stop before getting to the Big City. Also, with the prevailing wind out of the SW in the summer, we'd be more likely to be able to take some advantage of those wind for a little boost. Plus, that's the way all the cool kids have been doing it.
