Sing to me, my chain saw

It's not legal to cut trees on state property using power tools without proper certification and the permission of the land manager.  Anyone doing otherwise is risking a fine, and will make bike riders look bad in the eyes of the park manager.

Even dead, downed trees cut with a hand saw?

Read your own quote. I am sure a hand saw is not considered a power tool.

    Hand saw = OK
Power saw = bad (without certification, correct safety wear and approval of same by land manager)

    Clear?

I'm not trying to discourage anyone from pitching in to help keep the trails clear. I need help. But one thing worse than someone getting hurt running a chain saw would be someone getting hurt running a chain saw who isn't authorized to have one out there.

I knew what you meant Walt.  Glad to help.  We often carry the hand saws in our packs.  JS

    01Aug2012

One tree at the west end of Pokerville.

2 trees near the end of Holy Schist. One had been there for years and was only laying along the side of the trail.

2 trees on the second downhill at the start of Holy Schist, the back side of the appendix.

The main loop around the mound and Pokerville are now free of down trees, to the best of my knowledge.
