    Return of the Quarry Scramble

    October 05, 2012, 12:59 PM

***UPDATE***This is happening on January 20th at Noon at Quarry Park***

    http://brassnipples.net/2012/12/quarry-scramble.html

Gauging interest in a variation of an event I put on a while back.

    Premise: Fatbike relay scavenger hunt
    Date: Probably January
Location: Quarry Park (Downtown Madison, not Quarry Ridge)
Entry Fee: Bicycle related item, all entry fees get recycled back into prizes

Each team will have 4 riders sharing one bike (so you don't necessarily need a fat bike to join in) and there will be 8(ish) check points scattered around Quarry Park. Each team has to hit all of the check points, each rider can only visit one check point per run, the bike must be handed off to another rider after each run. The winning team gets first dibs on the prize table (made up of the entry fee items).

Thoughts? Would anyone do this? Would you fat bike owners be willing to share your rigs for this?

I'd be game now that I'm in the fat bike club. I'll likely be doing a two week Army gig in Germany from 1/5/13-1/19/13 though.

Yep, bring something bike related for the raffle, that's the only entry fee (there may be a tip jar to cover some of my meager expenses).

Bugger, well lets move that to Noon, Sunday January 20th.  People should have lots of fresh stuff to give out as raffle prizes after the swap and maybe there will be a few new fat bike owners.

Also, If you don't have a fattie bring your normal bike in case there aren't enough to go around. I'm hoping we can still keep it a fat only day though, but the snow should get stamped down enough to make it rideable for most any bike.
