I'm riding blue mound tonight, 530 or so.  If anyone wants to join to a good paced lap of everything, let me know.

Hope you get a good ride in. Should be a great night for it. I gotta get out there soon!
I am taking the kiddos to see Clash of the Titans at Camp Randall.

Clash of the Titans would have been way better.  The original one.

Have a good ride! Post back with a trail report if you can, if there are any trees down, etc. Oh, and ride Pokerville!

Trails were great.  My first time out this year.  I was having a technically excellent and enjoyable ride, every rock garden, crossing, everything was going great.
Then I hit the smooth flat ending to Schist leading up to Home Stretch.  The place where you're not supposed to get hurt.  I got going fast and pedal struck a bike stopping rock and launched myself and the RIP9.  Far.  Hard.  Banged myself up really good.  Thought for a minute a broke my freakin leg actually.

Anyway, once I got back I was a bit out of sorts and think I left my front 9mm axle on the ground.  It would be in the grassy center island of the lower parking lot, maybe somewhere around the middle, I was just to the north of the portapotty I think.  So if anyone is out and could look, it should be easy to find.

Hopefully you can track that sucker down, I just learned from having one fall apart on me that they are pricy to replace. To get a genuine replacement from fox is in the neighborhood of $90 although generic ones can be found on ebay for closer to $30.

I kid you not, my brother face planted hitting that exact same rock last Friday!  The only one on that exit stretch.

I believe it.  THere was nothing there.  I didn't even see the rock.  I was riding along thinking "damn I just owned those rocks today" and BANG out of nowhere.  Very violent!  Don't ever disrespect blue  mound, she always will have her way with you sooner or later.

By the way it is a 15mm axle/skewer, I'll post separately but I hope someone can find it for me.  It says Shimano on the axle, with a fox part number underneath.

Heh, I know exactly which rock you are talking about. Luckily my experience was not as bad as yours, but still memorable enough that I know to watch for it. If you look closely at it there are numerous pedal strike marks.

Obviously the rocks at Blue Mound must be removed. They are a hazard to all who ride there.
