Weekly CamRock Group Ride and Folly

    October 29, 2012, 05:53 PM

I was hoping to make it, but have far too much work I can't leave. I finally have a real light and wanted to try it out tonight!

Another awesome night of riding with a great group of folks. The weather was outstanding. The full moon was pretty awesome. Some lighting issues with folks tonight, but we got through it with no probs.
And the free brewski for the group from the proprietor of CamRock Sport was a really great bonus! Though I am not quite sure one can call the fine malted beverages sold there brewskis ;)
For me, I had fun with my first real singletrack ride on the Fat Mama. A fun ride for sure. Rides the TTF's like a champ. Still dialing it in a little. It seems learning tire pressures according to conditions will be a key to maximum comfort and traction. My first full rigid ride in about a dozen years.

I am guessing everybody must have forgotten to set their clocks back and showed up an hour early for the group ride?  At least 3 of us were intelligent enough to do so I guess.

Nah, I was gone over the weekend, and needed to be home with the fam last night. Planning to be there next week. Also hoping to do the Poker run this Friday, AND the farm ride on Saturday...assuming it isn't too wet.

I was unfortunately held away by work :P It really cramps my social life sometimes.

My excuse is WAY better than Mr. Jeff Knops. He was at the grocery store ::)

I also plan to be there next week..... And the week after that....And the week after that. As long as life does not get in the way.

Heh...I was going to be a pussy and wait on the weather. Then I got an invite to swill beer at the new Ale Asylum. So, now I'm torn. Don't sweat it. I can PayPal you money, though!

Did anyone else see that Jeff has moved this ride to Saturday evenings at 4pm? Not sure what that's about, but I don't think I like it.  ???

He also changed the time. Just post on FB or send him an email and ask why. I'm sure there was a reason.

Jeff thought that having snow bike riding and having it at night was like having a niche within a niche. He thought it might be too limiting. He is also moving the music to Saturdays and thought the two might go well together. Maybe even as a couples event.

Anyway, He is open to whatever people want. I told him when I actually get in front of a computer I would put up a poll with some options and see what folks prefer. Maybe we need a couple of rides a week!
