    Dairy Roubaix registration

    December 31, 2013, 12:10 PM

Registration just opened for this event. Not sure if it will conflict with BALLS (Bear, your cue to set a date).

You guys nailed it.  BALLS 4/26-4/27.  I'm running support for BALLS so dug deep and registered for the 107 mile ride for Dairy Roubaix.

Did anyone else sign up for this? I'm going to attempt the long route as a warmup for BALLS.

    Looks like Bear did!

I was a giant wuss last year and didn't ride enough.  I want to punish myself a little this year.

I may be a wuss too. :-\  Signed up for the long one, will probably do the short.
Like Richard says "the short one is just long enough to be fun, the long one you're going to suffer".

Hope you had a great ride -- it was fabulous day.  How did it go?
We had a small group of Angry Monkeys and stuck to the 54 mile plan.
The 29ner was extra work but no regrets.

A fabulous day indeed.  I highly recommend the longer route for anyone who has demons to excise, that second half will wipe your slate clean. I ended up riding about half the day with a fellow named ?Dave? who was good company and full of great Wisconsin facts but mysteriously disappeared around mile 75 or so.  The second to last climb was especially memorable, imagine cheese country trail but straight up.  It really is a beautiful route though, one of the prettiest rides in the region.

This will for sure be on my schedule next year...especially if there is no BALLS.

I'll echo what Richard said. My first time with the Dairy Roubaix and I'll be back for sure. My day started with showing up late, breaking my chain riding up to the registration booth, and some gastrointestinal issues from the pre-race "nutrition" from the gas station. A couple mid-ride warm PBRs and all was well again. The great scenery and weather masked the burn in my legs.
